AI Funding and Delivery Tests Keep Three Companies in Focus
Blue Acquisition’s proposed merger faces a customer-payment and shareholder-vote timetable. Akamai’s Anthropic expansion requires capital before service revenue. Applied Digital must turn its next construction milestone into operating capacity.
These companies remain on this week’s Watchlist because their funding and delivery tests are still ahead. A repeated selection does not imply a new contract or completed milestone. The developments are different stages of the same commercial question: when does an AI infrastructure commitment become a funded, usable business?
IBlue AcquisitionNASDAQ: BACC · A conditional transaction approaches two checkpoints
Blue Acquisition remains the proposed acquirer of Blockfusion, rather than the established operating owner of its Niagara Falls AI project. The October 23 definitive merger proxy schedules a shareholder meeting for November 17 and retains an expected second $25 million customer payment on or about November 3. The payment is an expectation, not a confirmed receipt.
The distinction matters because customer cash, completion of the combination and operating revenue are separate events. The earlier filing reports a first $25 million payment and describes an initial 35 MW lease, with later capacity subject to separate conditions. Neither customer funding nor a shareholder vote establishes that the planned capacity is ready for service.
Watch next: confirmation of the expected installment, the vote outcome and the remaining financing and closing conditions. Do not count anticipated funding as cash received or the target’s operations as Blue Acquisition’s completed business combination.
IIAkamaiNASDAQ: AKAM · Capital spending precedes Anthropic service revenue
Akamai’s September 24 capital and revenue plan sets out approximately $1.7 billion of fourth-quarter 2026 capital spending for the Anthropic expansion, with no project revenue during that quarter. Service initiation is planned for late in the second quarter of 2027, followed by a revenue ramp.
The company presents approximately $11.6 billion of contracted revenue over seven years. That is a conditional multiyear commitment, not revenue already earned. A further approximately $9 billion of potential expansion is optional. The timing of equipment purchases and service delivery therefore matters alongside the headline contract value.
Watch next: spending and funding disclosures against the fourth-quarter procurement plan, then evidence of progress toward service initiation. Akamai has scheduled third-quarter results for November 5; the event provides a reporting checkpoint, but its announcement does not promise a particular Anthropic update. Delivery, financing and contract conditions remain unresolved.
IIIApplied DigitalNASDAQ: APLD · Polaris Forge 2 is the next delivery test
Applied Digital’s October 7 results report that Polaris Forge 1 reached 250 MW of ready-for-service capacity on October 1. Management expects initial operations at Polaris Forge 2 to help lift delivered critical IT capacity across its North Dakota campuses to 300 MW by the end of 2026.
The first figure is a reported delivery milestone; the second remains a target. Completion at Polaris Forge 1 does not establish readiness at Polaris Forge 2. The company’s separate agreement for potential power in Finland is also distinct from delivered North Dakota capacity.
Watch next: a site-specific ready-for-service update at Polaris Forge 2 and the associated lease commencement and revenue disclosures. Announced power, contracted future capacity and operating capacity should remain separate. The question is whether the next phase reaches service on the stated timetable and begins contributing under its own commercial terms.
Selection and uncertainty. FJ Intelligence reviews its tracked company universe and uses verified business developments to select three monitoring priorities. Missing or conflicting evidence reduces a candidate’s priority; it does not automatically hold the edition. Unresolved eligibility cannot support a selection. The section order includes an editorial tie-break and does not establish precise numerical superiority or predict share-price returns.
Evidence as of October 26, 2026. The Blue Acquisition discussion uses the retained October 23 proxy reviewed earlier on October 26; a fresh SEC retrieval was unavailable during final preparation. Akamai’s capital plan and Applied Digital’s October 7 results were retrieved again for this edition. No later customer payment, completed merger, Anthropic service launch or Polaris Forge 2 readiness is asserted. This Watchlist is monitoring analysis, not a recommendation to buy or sell securities.
