Standard Chartered
Business, financial evidence and documented connections to the AI buildout.
Business and AI exposure
Standard Chartered is an international banking group. Its connection to VIRTUS’s Marienpark campus is a financing mandate: the bank acted as mandated lead arranger and hedging bank for a €210 million facility. It does not acquire ownership of the campus through those roles.

Financial context
For the first half of 2026, Standard Chartered reported $11.6 billion of income and $4.8 billion of pretax profit. The reviewed results did not separately identify Marienpark fees, retained lending or a group-wide AI earnings share.
Delivery and commitments
The February 2026 transaction announcement describes financing for a Berlin development with 57.6 MW of planned full-build capacity. That figure is the project specification, not the bank’s economic share. The announcement’s original delivery expectation does not establish that commissioning or customer acceptance has occurred.
Costs, funding and dependencies
Facility utilization, construction progress, hedging arrangements and borrower credit quality affect the bank’s return. Individual retained exposure and fee terms remain undisclosed. An arranging role should not be converted into the entire facility being held on the bank’s balance sheet.
What to watch next
Look for an updated construction and opening milestone, actual drawdown and any transaction-specific credit or fee disclosure. The previously announced timetable needs a current delivery update before the campus can be described as operating at its full planned capacity.
Documented project connections
Each connection below has a specific, cited role. A supplier, lender, customer or proposed acquirer has different economics from the project owner.
VIRTUS Marienpark / BERLIN1 campus
Mandated lead arranger and hedging bank for the €210 million Marienpark financing.
Financing and hedging roles do not establish campus ownership or disclose retained loan exposure and fees.
Evidence boundaries
Company totals, segment sales, bookings, backlog, spending, capacity and usage describe different things. They do not establish project-level revenue, earnings or an exact AI-only revenue share unless the cited disclosure explicitly says so.
This is a dated research snapshot. Forecasts are attributed expectations, and undisclosed amounts remain unknown. Source review does not certify every project or future outcome.
