Principal Financial Group
Business, financial evidence and documented connections to the AI buildout.
Business and AI exposure
Principal Financial Group provides investment management and financial services. Funds managed by Principal retained a minority interest in Stream Data Centers when Apollo-managed funds acquired the majority. This creates a managed-fund platform connection to Stream’s developments, including STAMP, rather than a disclosed direct public-parent stake in that campus.

Financial context
For Q2 2026, Principal reported $403 million of net income and $547 million of non-GAAP operating earnings. Assets under management were $808 billion and excess available capital was $1.6 billion. These group measures do not reveal fees, capital exposure or profits attributable to Stream.
Delivery and commitments
The November 2025 transaction announcement describes completed platform ownership arrangements. Stream’s project materials identify the company as the STAMP developer. Neither source establishes that the proposed site is fully financed, constructed or delivering accepted computing capacity.
Costs, funding and dependencies
Managed-fund investment performance and asset-management fees depend on different contractual arrangements from direct property earnings. Individual project ownership percentages, fund commitments and fee allocations to Principal were not disclosed in the reviewed transaction announcement.
What to watch next
Watch STAMP’s planning, financing and construction progress, and seek any platform-specific fee or investment disclosure. The economic bridge from a managed minority fund interest to public-parent earnings must remain explicit rather than assuming the campus’s entire value accrues to Principal.
Documented project connections
Each connection below has a specific, cited role. A supplier, lender, customer or proposed acquirer has different economics from the project owner.
Stream STAMP / Project Double Reed
Principal-managed funds retained a minority interest in Stream Data Centers, the STAMP project developer.
Fund-platform participation does not establish PFG's direct site equity, project financing completion or operating capacity.
Evidence boundaries
Company totals, segment sales, bookings, backlog, spending, capacity and usage describe different things. They do not establish project-level revenue, earnings or an exact AI-only revenue share unless the cited disclosure explicitly says so.
This is a dated research snapshot. Forecasts are attributed expectations, and undisclosed amounts remain unknown. Source review does not certify every project or future outcome.
