Business and AI exposure

Commvault sells data protection and cyber-resilience software, including subscription and cloud services. Its Microsoft partnership places these capabilities closer to Azure users and AI workloads. Commercial exposure comes through software consumption and subscriptions, alongside protection of conventional enterprise data.

Financial context

Products and delivery

Commvault’s existing SaaS business exceeded $100 million of quarterly revenue and reached $424.337 million of annual recurring revenue in fiscal Q1 2027. Those figures cover the wider cloud portfolio and do not measure revenue from the new Azure-native service.

Plans and commitments

The multiyear Microsoft agreement covers a native Azure independent-software-vendor service, joint selling and use of Azure spending commitments. The original summer preview target should be distinguished from current general availability and paid usage, neither of which is quantified in the cited results.

Economics and dependencies

The partnership’s value depends on service availability, customer adoption and conversion of Azure commitments into actual purchases. Existing subscription and SaaS recurring-revenue measures include many non-AI customers. The agreement does not disclose separate Azure rollout revenue or profitability.

What to watch

A product availability update and evidence of paid Azure usage would clarify commercial progress. Broader subscription growth and cash generation remain useful operating measures, but should not substitute for a specific disclosure of the native service’s adoption or AI workload revenue.

Documented project connections

Each connection below has a specific, cited role. A supplier, lender, customer or proposed acquirer has different economics from the project owner.

No named tracked-project role has been established by the evidence used for this profile. This does not mean the company has no AI exposure.

Evidence boundaries

Company totals, segment sales, bookings, backlog, spending, capacity and usage describe different things. They do not establish project-level revenue, earnings or an exact AI-only revenue share unless the cited disclosure explicitly says so.

This is a dated research snapshot. Forecasts are attributed expectations, and undisclosed amounts remain unknown. Source review does not certify every project or future outcome.
