Carrier

Business, financial evidence and documented connections to the AI buildout.

NYSE:CARR · Research reviewed October 18, 2026

Business and AI exposure

Carrier supplies heating, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment and services. Data-center cooling connects it to AI infrastructure spending through chillers and liquid-cooling equipment. Its economic role is to sell and service thermal-management systems across a much broader building-equipment business.

Financial context

For Q2 2026, Carrier reported sales of $6.351 billion, GAAP operating profit of $825 million and free cash flow of $810 million. Data-center orders increased more than 300%, but the company did not disclose an absolute AI revenue figure.

Products and delivery

Commercial Americas sales fell 8% in Q2 2026 because of delivery timing. This illustrates the gap between strong orders and reported sales: equipment must still be manufactured, delivered and recognized under the relevant customer contracts.

Plans and commitments

At Q1 2026, backlog covered expected data-center sales for the year. Carrier also planned additional coolant distribution units with capacity up to 5 MW during 2026. Rated thermal capacity describes product capability, rather than a customer installation or revenue amount.

Economics and dependencies

Backlog conversion depends on manufacturing throughput and the schedules of data-center customers. Profitability also depends on the equipment mix and service contribution. Neither order growth nor a cooling unit’s capacity establishes the amount of earnings attributable specifically to AI workloads.

What to watch

The next operating updates should clarify how much data-center backlog becomes delivered sales and whether the larger cooling products enter commercial use. Company-level cash flow and margins help assess execution, although data-center and AI-specific profitability remain separately undisclosed.

Documented project connections

Each connection below has a specific, cited role. A supplier, lender, customer or proposed acquirer has different economics from the project owner.

No named tracked-project role has been established by the evidence used for this profile. This does not mean the company has no AI exposure.

Evidence boundaries

Company totals, segment sales, bookings, backlog, spending, capacity and usage describe different things. They do not establish project-level revenue, earnings or an exact AI-only revenue share unless the cited disclosure explicitly says so.

This is a dated research snapshot. Forecasts are attributed expectations, and undisclosed amounts remain unknown. Source review does not certify every project or future outcome.
