Cadence

Business, financial evidence and documented connections to the AI buildout.

NASDAQ:CDNS · Research reviewed October 18, 2026

Business and AI exposure

Cadence sells chip-design software, intellectual property and system-engineering tools. Its AI exposure comes from helping customers design advanced processors and from incorporating AI and accelerated computing into the engineering process itself. These activities also serve many non-AI applications.

Economics and dependencies

Commercial results depend on engineering-tool adoption, customer design activity and conversion of contracted work into revenue. Reported growth in electronic design automation, intellectual property and system design includes non-AI demand, while accelerated-system performance depends on the configuration used.

What to watch

Subsequent product releases and financial reports can show whether accelerated engineering tools reach broader production use. Recurring revenue, backlog conversion and operating cash generation provide a more complete picture than demonstrations alone; separate AI product revenue remains undisclosed.

Documented project connections

Each connection below has a specific, cited role. A supplier, lender, customer or proposed acquirer has different economics from the project owner.

No named tracked-project role has been established by the evidence used for this profile. This does not mean the company has no AI exposure.

Evidence boundaries

Company totals, segment sales, bookings, backlog, spending, capacity and usage describe different things. They do not establish project-level revenue, earnings or an exact AI-only revenue share unless the cited disclosure explicitly says so.

This is a dated research snapshot. Forecasts are attributed expectations, and undisclosed amounts remain unknown. Source review does not certify every project or future outcome.
