Business and AI exposure

Alliant Energy is a regulated utility group. Its Wisconsin business is working with Meta on the Beaver Dam data-center development and associated energy infrastructure. The role provides a potential utility-service connection, rather than ownership of Meta’s buildings, servers or computing revenue.

Financial context

Alliant’s June 30, 2026 filing reported $25 million of cash and $542 million of revolving-credit borrowings across the parent and utility entities. Those balances have different corporate obligors and are not a dedicated funding account for Beaver Dam.

Delivery and commitments

Meta announced investment exceeding $1 billion in the campus and a 2027 opening target. Alliant’s November 2025 announcement describes Meta funding necessary infrastructure so that existing customers are protected. Meta’s investment amount is not Alliant revenue, and a planned opening does not establish current accepted load.

Costs, funding and dependencies

Construction, network readiness, regulatory arrangements and actual customer demand determine utility delivery. The reviewed announcements do not provide a campus tariff, project-level earnings estimate or complete allocation of investment recovery. Customer funding and utility-owned infrastructure should be assessed under their actual terms.

What to watch next

Watch network construction and the campus’s commissioning, followed by actual deliveries and regulatory cost recovery. A clearer earnings contribution requires approved terms and operating evidence, rather than a direct conversion of Meta’s capital budget into utility profit.

Documented project connections

Each connection below has a specific, cited role. A supplier, lender, customer or proposed acquirer has different economics from the project owner.

Meta Beaver Dam

Utility partner for Meta's Beaver Dam development.

Meta-funded infrastructure and a future service target are not realized electricity sales or utility earnings.

Evidence boundaries

Company totals, segment sales, bookings, backlog, spending, capacity and usage describe different things. They do not establish project-level revenue, earnings or an exact AI-only revenue share unless the cited disclosure explicitly says so.

This is a dated research snapshot. Forecasts are attributed expectations, and undisclosed amounts remain unknown. Source review does not certify every project or future outcome.
